Look through your discover feed to find posts by salons and users and discover what salons you might be interested in joining. You can also find salons in the Salon Discover page for a Topic.
Scroll a topic-based feed based on what is most popular in the topics you are interested in. The scroll page is centered around people you follow, so no need to worry about addictive algorithms.
Have live meetups with physical embodied presence in a salon room. Discuss what people have been working on and other discussion topics as seen fit.

Frequently Asked Questions
Salonn takes its name from the salonnière, or the traditionally female leader of a salon. Salons were groups of normally 15-20 people that would meet and discuss Art, Music, Philosophy, and Technology, among other topics. Many famous works came out of salons and many household names were supported through or participated in salons, such as Voltaire and Benjamin Franklin. Salons were a crucial part of the Enlightenment, and we are looking to supercharge them with modern technology for our current age.
With the rise of AI threatening young artists, writers, and technologists, the power of community and funding is more important now than ever. We believe it is the perfect time for time for this movement to use the wave of automation that AI creates to reconsider what role community plays in us as humans finding our purpose.

You can join public salons from the topic feed, accepting an invite link, or being matched to a salon (Fill out our form by pressing the "Get Early Access" button). To create your own, go to the salons page, pick a topic, fill out the relevant information, press create, and invite people directly.
Yes. You can browse topics, join salons, and host sessions for free. We’ll introduce optional premium features for power users later.
Salonn is designed for both. You can join sessions from mobile, and for full embodied presence you can join the same salons from a VR headset. Most of the features such as content browsing and chatting with salons are currently only available on mobile.
Like in the salons of old, people primarily discuss what projects they are working on in the topic of the salon, or a piece of work that made them think, or prompts that the salon leader curates for them.
You must be a leader or coleader for a salon to go live. If you are, a go live button should show up in the salons page. Press the button, fill out the information about the live session, and then press "Go Live".
The top posts for the past 24 hours for each topic you follow will be shown, along with a few random posts here or there to help smaller creators get attention. Your post will have a higher chance of getting viewed if it is posted to a salon than if it is just posted to your feed.
Leaders and coleaders will moderate their own salons and live salon meetings. Topics will also have leaders that moderate content for the topic. The platform also allows users to report content and has auto-detection for explicit images.
Users can customize their own 3D profile room. They can purchase items with coins in the shop that they can then add to their profile room. On one side of the profile room the user will have their posts, and on the other will be all their posts specific to their salons.
The main ranks are Leader, Coleader, Elder, and Member. Elders can kick out members. Coleaders can go live, kick out Members and Elders, and mute members during live meetings. Leaders can do all of the above as well as transfer leadership, promote members, and delete the salon.
Currently due to cost constraints, salons can only meet live for up to 5 hours per month and have up to 20 members. There are plans to enable premium membership to expand these limits and add additional customization features.
